In Atlantic Source we are glad to introduce yet again the latest in AIS technology.

The AIS CTRX CARBON + Transponder is a class B AIS transponder with built in splitter, so installation has become easier than never before.

But that’s not all, since this transponder is ready to connect to the digital sensors on board that will let you or personnel in your marina or harbour, in the not-far future monitor your vessel in your mobile phone or desktop.

You can read more specs in the following link.

Some of the readers in our blog will wonder what are we doing writing about Korea 2002, especially if we explain that we mean 2002′s football’s world championship.

But there is a good reason, and it is that Koke Contreras, former goalkeeper in several 1st division teams, has decided to say hello to one of the referees that kicked us out of the championship, citizen of Trinidad&Tobago.

And he has decided that the best way to do is by crossing the Atlantic in his sailing boat. We will be tracking it on his way. We thought it is a very fun idea.

Koke has written about the history in Marca, Spain’s most visited sports newspaper. Track him here.

The Gran Prix regatta has finally started later than expected due to meteo conditions, but finally became a success as expected; with 13 participants we have an average of 1500 visits per day and dozens of people have signed up for the satellite messaging service.

We are especially proud of the grib web-based visual application. In the regatta it lets you visualize the forecasted wind in the next 3 hours.

We hope to improve the wind app in the next few weeks so that all forecasted times by the grib data can be visualized in the application.
